Paid Parking Begins at Kamaole Beach Parks on July 15

  • Posted on

If you're planning a Maui vacation, here's a quick update.

Beginning July 15, paid parking will be in effect at the parking lots serving Kamaole Beach Parks I, II, and III in Kihei.

Why the change?

Most Kihei visitor accommodations are within a short walking distance to a beach. This should help open parking spots for those who need to drive.

Paid parking was introduced to help fund the maintenance of its beach parks, including restrooms, landscaping, trash removal, and parking lot upkeep. Visitor parking fees help keep these popular beaches clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

How do I pay?

Parking is managed through Park Maui. For current rates, payment instructions, and hours of enforcement, visit Park Maui. There are weekly and monthly pass options available through the app starting July 15.

Many of Maui's beaches still offer free parking, and all of our vacation rentals include free on-site parking. Most of our guests are able to walk to the beach.

Still some of Maui's best beaches

The Kamaole beaches are some of the best on the island for swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding, sunsets, and family beach days.

Kamaole Beach III continues to be a favorite place to spend an afternoon, with its grassy park, playground, picnic tables, and excellent swimming conditions.

As always, we'll keep this blog updated as Maui introduces new visitor programs and changes that may affect your vacation.

Happy beach hopping!
